my favorite.

The statue of the Virgin Mary of Tálenská was witness of the bloom, doom and fear in Marianka. The first miracle was the healing of children. The oldest legend speaks of the blood thirsty bandit, who was based in the local forests. He had a child “more similar to animal than human”. The evil bandit was cursed by God, he still continued in his brutal ways. But his wife prayed sincerely and asked for mercy and was heard. An apparition led her to the stream where her children “after washing” turned into "healthy and happy children”. The news about the miraculous strength of the stream spread all around the country. Large queues of blind crippled and sick beggars were rushing with their prayers to drink and wash themselves in the blessed stream. They believed that the miraculous powers were directly from Virgin Mary in litany known as stream of mercy and well of wisdom.
